Playing the MPEG file on PC

I have some friends that can't play my VCDs or SVCDs on their DVD players. I have told them to extract the MPEG1 or MPEG2 file and play it on their PC with WMP..........but that hasn't been working even after they download the newest WMP. Is there something else they need to do to play my VV3 generated MPEG files on their PC? All help is appreciated as it has me baffled since when extracted they play on my PC very easily.

Thanks,

Ken M

mpeg1 should play fine.

Mpeg2 would need a codec installed and/or a separate played installed (which will install a codec)

Vegas installs an mpeg2 codec for wmp to use. Unfortunatly it causes a problem with inserting mpeg1 into powerpoint. Could be a problem if you want to use powerpoint for a presentation and include a sample of your work. There is a fix. Search this forum.
