Playing VCD on TV....

I know this must be something simple that I am missing, but here goes. I did a test burn to VCD to see how the final video would look (since the project sometimes looks a little choppy when previewing). After I burned it, I put in in my CD drive and ran it with InterVideo WinDVD 2000. Looked great. But when I put it in my DVD player on my TV, the sides were chopped off. What am I doing wrong.

Thanks...

BTW the final project will be shown from the DVD player through a video projector. I am not sure if this problem will occur then (since I am using the DVD player and not the computer to project it).

I am not sure if video projectors do this but TV's definitly crop the picture quite a bit. While editing on Vegas, turn on the "safe areas" overlay in the preview window and the white lines will give you the area that will be shown on the TV. The amount of cropping is different on different TV's so using this overlay is nice to make sure you don't have anything vital cropped out. But again, I have no idea if projectors do the same thing or not, maybe some of the others can comment. -Shon
