Hello People,

I have used Vegas for about 2 years now doing videos with my cam. Now I want to start recording bands with this software and want to know what equipment to get so everything turns out great. So far I have looked at gear from TASCAM,PreSonus, and St. Audio. What will work the best I have to have at least seven mic's and one direct in.
Thanks,
Dan

I think someone here or in the Video forum has tried out the Firepod from PreSonus with great success.

You will need, Makie, Berringer or comparable Board (min 16 tracks). Set of five drum mics and appropriate stands. One to three good vocal mics. Direct in for any acoustic guitars, keyboards, bass etc. Mics for guitrar amps. Minimum of eight to twenty four good a/d converters. I use a MOTU 2408 conected to a mackie mixer and two ADATS. This way I can record 24 tracks directly to my computer or record to ADAT live at a remote location and transfer to the computer later for mixdown. If you intend to record using overdubs in the studio, you can get by, with out spending too much (under $2000) if you purchase a Berringer 8 bus Mixer for American Musical, with seven or eight mics, a couple of good DIs and a good 8 track sound card. (Motu, Lyla etc.) Good luck and recording. Wobblyboy
