Rick,
I'm not a pro but I'll take a stab at trying to help. The lines showing up in your show sound like you need to check the "stretch video to fill frame size" block when you render. It's a box on the template page. Now for the settings, recommend you use the defaults as much as possible. For the best render format, on the render template page under the save file type as box, make sure Video for Windows is showing, then select DV NTSC as the template. Click on the custom button on the right and select best under the video rendering quality option. Then at the bottom of that page, click on the video tab and under field order, select none-progessive scanning. That gets rid of combing artifacts that show up around the edges of subjects in the video frame during movement. This is the best set up that I have found so far for best quality renders. File size is huge but the quality is the best. As for Windows Media Player (WMP) templates for web streaming, if you select V9, the people playing the show have to have WMP version 9 installed to watch the show. It's a free upgrade so many do. That's the version I use. It is excellent quality. Select the Windows Media Video (not audio) 9 as the file type, select 256K template (good for streaming and smaller file size), and then select the custom button to make sure the quality level is set to best. That's what I use. Try it and see if that helps. Good luck.
