All solos, mutes on tracks, busses, and FX sends/returns are active
during a mix.

Also, depending on how you have your busses set up, you can generate
multli stereo files - one for each main bus, multiple mono - two mono
files (left/right) for each of the main busses.

The Mix to new track is just a form of the standard save as,

You can also render/mix only the current selection. There is an
option in the save as and mix to new dlg that lets you set this
option.
