I have a 504 and I have been able to successfully burn slideshows on +RW disks. I have also tested burning vob files that I copied from a commercial DVD and it worked fine. So far, I like the drive.

If "yes", it's great !
I live at the other half of the planet, so I wanted to be sure before I order a DVD drive.

Sorry! Yes, I used DVDA for the aforementioned burns. I have used Verbatim discs successfully but am having trouble burning to Imation discs. I am investigating further.
