Did you mean Vegas for burning CDs or DVD Architect for burning DVDs?

I just upgraded to V5b but haven't burned anything on my PX-708a. I worked around the issue in DVDA1 by using the Roxio product that came with the drive to do the actual burning after DVDA prepared the files. (This may be the only approach that will work when adding extra folders to a DVD movie for access via a PC.)

I don't have a 708A, but I do have a 708UF(Same drive external with firewire and USB2.0 interfaces). I have a problem with DVD-A2 where if I try to prepare and burn a DVD I get an unreadable or glitched disk, even though it says everything completed properly. HOWEVER, if I burn the disk using just the "Burn disk" option, not the "Prepare and Burn" option, it works fine. For some reason, I have to do it in 2 manual steps. I've reported this and we'll see if anything comes of it.

As far as burning in Vegas, no, never tried it.

DVDA2 works perfectly with my old 504A and my new 712A, with the latest firmware. I haven't produced a single coaster with DVDA1 or 2, believe it or not.

I have the Plextor 708-A, and I just burned several DVDs using DVDA2. No probelms at all. I used DVD+RW media.

Sony has acknowledged an issue with the Plextor 708A/UF and "-" media i.e., the burner is grayed out and says it will be addressed in the next update. Try using "+" media and see if that helps - I have the 708UF and using "+" media has solved my problem.
