Plug-in error after 8c upgrade

Jay Gladwell wrote on 9/15/2008, 9:46 AM
I just installed the Pro 8c upgrade. When I opened an older Pro 8 project, I got the following message:

"Warning: An error occurred while loading the project file ABC.veg

An error occurred when loading a plug-in or plug-ins. The plug-in(s) specified are not installed on this system."

Then, when I click on the "Details" button I get the following:

"Plug-in: 'Sony Track Noise Gate' failed to load. Please make sure the plug-in is properly installed.
Plug-in: 'Sony Track EQ' failed to load. Please make sure the plug-in is properly installed.
Plug-in: 'Sony Track Compressor' failed to load. Please make sure the plug-in is properly installed."

How do I reinstall these plug-ins?

Thanks in advance!

I got a plugin error and then had my Veg file crash every time I tried to play back. Went back to 8.0b...

I think I found the problem....

For me, I had created a few nested audio vegs with 8.0b and the parent project was in 8.0c. To clear the problem (at least mine), I went back to the 8.0b vegs...opened them...saved them and the problem went away....

Jay I installed 8c and rebooted immediately after install. I have not gotten any of the plugin problems that you have. Everything works just fine. I have Win XP Pro SP2.

Thanks to those who have replied thus far.

My question, at this time (I too rebooted after the install), would be where does one go to get the missing plug-ins?

MarkFoley wrote on 9/17/2008, 11:54 AM
there is no missing plugins....just open the old veg file that was created in 8.0b...then save it. When you open it again, all will be fine

Mark, you're right to a degree. Once saved, the plug-in arror message no longer appears. However, the plug-in chain for that file is gone. Also, those specific plug-ins are still missing from the plug-in selector.

hmmmm....I still have the plugin chain (although I never use them anyway as I prefer other 3rd party). Sorry I can't offer help to where to find those lost souls....
