Been reading the posts and am a little confused. I'd appreciate some help verifying what I think I figured out.

I have Vegas 5, Acid Pro 4, and Cakewalk project 5. Acid and Project5 I'm a novice with as I have very few hours playing with them. Vegas I'm pretty good with, but no expert.

Sony makes a filter that helps remove pops and scratches from files captured from old Vinyl records. It cost $200 plus dollars.

This plug in can be used in Vegas.

It does a reasonable job.

I'm not sure I want to spend that much for a plug in and I'm not interested in spending more money on another program at this time. Anyone have any suggestions on other (free or cheaper) plugins that would help, or settings to use with what's already in Vegas. I have messed with noise gate and the equalizer and a few other settings. I can make it better, but I change the music too much for my liking. The noise gate seems to be on low frequency sounds and not in the mid to higher frequencies where I am assuming the pops and cracks are coming from.
