The only titling plugin I am aware of today is Boris Grafitti www.borisfx.com

You can use other programs such as Xara3D, Ulead Coll 3D Studio, Serif Impact Plus and create an AVI with alpha channel or a solid colour backdrop which is easily chromakeyed out.

A very helpful guy called satish is developing a plugin for Vegas that should be in beta soon which I think will have some additional titling capabilities www.debugmode.com

What is it you want to do, the Vegas titling looks basic at first glance but you can achieve a lot with the right approach.

Hi Guys! Just got Boris Grafitti 3.0. It comes with 600page manual . . . Christmas will not be boring at all!

BG3 has a standalone Keyframer. You can create work in this but then you need to use an NLE authoring package - viz Vegas - to do the actual creation. And, as PAW says, you can also use the Plugin directly from within Vegas. I can simple click on the G Plugin in Fx and there it is. That's as far as I've got.

There have been some other posts very recently on the efficiency of this approach, here in this Forum. Do a search and you will get a "wider" view on these things.

The reason I purchased it was that Boris was doing a Vegas BG3 discount for this s/w . . . I couldn't resist it!

There is also a 3rd party training company that is now offereing their Intelligent Assistant which will provide a fuller example-rich online tutorial package. One of the Guys here has accomplished his BG3 learning just using the BG3 online help files . . . I haven't got IA, so I can't comment on its efficacy . . maybe I'll go for it . . .

Anyways, keep us informed on your decision - Don't forget Satish's plugin for text manipulation, which we are all thinking about too.

Failling all of the above, you can still get some amazing wonderful text effects and workflow efficiencies within Vegas. Try more fully exploring our s/w on this side of things before you purchase. I've been able to achieve some very excellent results using Vegas. You may also want to go to the Sundance - other sites too - that have a wealth of Vegas text tutorials and examples - yeah?

Best reagards,

Grazie

off topic a little, but is it possible to add a font to the existing text media ?

my favourite font is missing.

Vegas uses the (TrueType) fonts that are installed on your system. And if you play with it a little, you'll find that Dingbat fonts (symbols, rather than letters) are excellent for various use in Vegas.

Grazie,
Congatulations! Keep us posted, won't you?
Anyway, what's this about Satish, has he got titling in the pipline? I didn't see anything about it on his site.

Speaking of fonts I've just about finished off this Chinese project, seriously considering buying NJStar to do further work, I don't really need it if I can get the client to email me the Chinese text but the only way I can find to get the really nice looking Chinese fonts is to buythe full version of the program, the basic version if only $100 but each extra font adds about $100. With 35,000 characters per font set I guess it's a reasonable amount.
