plugin chooser

Hi, I am new to Vegas video, I upgraded from video factory so I know the interface quite well. My problem is when I click video event fx, a plug-in chooser window pops up. What exactly is this window? Is there any way I can stop it from opening because I would just rather drag my fx from the video fx window to the blank pallet window.

Be sure Video FX is checked under View on the Menu bar. Now click on the Video FX tab at the bottom of the screen. You should see a list of FX filters. Drag the one you want to the timeline and drop or select a preset and do the same thing. You see the FX chain if you click on any event that doesn't have any filter applied yet. Once you drop one filter the little control box on the timeline changes from gray to green.
