Plugin Missing - Common Numbering System?

john_dennis wrote on 11/7/2022, 10:49 AM

Is there a consistent number assigned to plugins as they are installed into Vegas Pro?

If it is a random number generated at install time, could I get a copy of the code? The PowerBall payout is ~ two billion dollars this week. Maybe this code would be better at picking numbers than I have been.

I searched a couple machines and did not find a match for that code. If you have an older machine you used that had that effect, you can search the registry for that GUID and figure out what plugin it is.

@jetdv

Thank you for your learned response. I'm currently dual-booting with Vegas 13-18 on one image and Vegas 19 on a different image on the same hardware. I've been working older projects, so who knows what I'll find next. Currently, I could go back and run the projects in the original versions, but after my next hardware upgrade that option will disappear or diminish.

I keep system images of old systems, but for this type of effort, it might make sense to export and save a copy of the registry for old systems where the hardware no longer exists.

Here is Howie Duit for those who are not familiar with searching the registry.

Now, for selecting the right PowerBall numbers.

And now you know... AAV ColorLab! Glad you found it.
