PLURALEYES

IHi guys I had a post up a while back about sync problems in Pro 14 with pluraleyes. Here's how I got it straightened out, it might help.

My projects were of a rock band about a four-hour show which I split up into 4 different DVDs.

The Sony cam split my Clips up into something like 20 minutes segments.

I had two cameras and one Tascam dr-40 digital board mix which default to a couple of 2 hour segments.

I added some mastering compression and Reverb to the tascam tracks in Sound Forge.

Tip number one if you were going to trim clips do it before you import them and arrange them with pluraleyes. If I trimmed within Pro 14 pluraleye had a hard time syncing them up.

Tip number 2 since I had camera one and Camera two with three separate Clips each I stagger them over 4 audio and video tracks. Camera one on tracks 1 2 & 3 4 and Camera 2 on 5/6 + 7/8.

Audio track number 9.

Pressed the pluraleyes extension which I have added to my toolbar and it's synced everything up fairly closely but sometimes with almost a full second drift.

To fine tune solo the tascaam and one of the camera audio tracks. IPad the Tascam hard left and the camera hard right. Listen for the echo. Select the camera track and nudge left or right with 4 and 6 on the number pad. Keep the numbers lock on.

Remember The Wider you stretch out your timeline the smaller the nudge increments will be. I had it set about as wide as it can get which made fine tuning much easier a couple of clicks at a time. Try to find a point where someone is talking or there is a very distinct vocal part to cue.

Do this for each of your camera clips and remember to put the pan back in the middle when you are done. And un solo whatever you had selected.

This is probably old news to anyone who's not as stupid as me but I hope it helps someone.
