PluralEyes error "Failed to open... Check the PluralEyes 4 log file.."

Trying to pluraleyes a Vegas22 project, I'm getting this error:

Deleted the P4P file and recreated -- no difference.
Renamed my tracks to remove any slashes and ampersands i case that was causing issue (after searching online) -- no difference.
Looked in the PluralEyes log file and see this before it errors out:

I also tried opening the P4P file launching PluralEyes directly and the same error occurs.

Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this error?

It's unfortunate that the Vegas "Audio Synch" can't just synch all the media across multiple tracks like PluralEyes does; its limited functionality renders it pretty ineffective for larger projects.

NOTE: in this particular case, I found that un-muting a track-group that had two wave files in it -- solved the problem?!

I haven't compared the .P4P files to see what changed inside of them, but that made it work, and I could repeatedly just turn that off/on and make the problem happen/disappear.

Leaving posted here in case it helps anyone else down the road.
