I've moved my software between computers a couple of times (I always seem to be upgrading) and SF has never given my any grief whatsoever. I simply reregister and it works. I asked someone in support there once and they said that there wouldn't be a problem unless it started happening a lot. In other words, if you install it once, then a few months later install it again, etc. there won't be a problem. If it gets installed 30 times in one day, they may ask what's up.

You can also install it on different computers and it's OK.
I have Acid installed on my home computer and work computer (I only use it at breaktime,I swear!).
I checked with support on this and they said it's no problem. As a matter of fact, they e-mailed me my registration number to my work computer.
Also, I purchased a download copy of Acid Pro 3.0, so I copied the set-up file to a CD, and wrote down the registration number for it. I keep these together for future use.

Later.

Thanks. Looks like simply record the reg number for future use is the way to go.

Many installations ago, I chose a registration option which resulted in SF emailing me a file that, when executed, modifies my registry so that I no longer have to re-register when I have to re-install the program.

I have no need of this software on any but the one machine it's installed on, so can't say if this file would work on another machine.

I'm surprised more folks don't talk about this option. It certainly eliminated the re-register aggravation for me.

yes good point. that will work as long as you don't change your PC name or user info or something. it keys off of something like that...

the reg file from SF is useless after reformatting because your computer ID changes. All it does anyway is enter the activation code into the registry which is based off said ID. Found that out the hard way at 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
