Post fx Channel Swapping

MartinE wrote on 6/14/2017, 6:59 AM

I use a mid-side pair on my camera a lot. In the edit I use the MSED plug-in as a track effect so that any MS recorded clip gets decoded to stereo when dropped onto that track. Sometimes the o/p channels are swapped, I think because I had the side figure 8 mic the wrong way round. The MSED fx has an input channel swap feature but not an output channel swap. In Vegas how can I swap the channels post fx on a track. I know I can render the track eventually and just swap the channels on the rendered new track but is there a Vegas track fx can I can insert into the chain after the MSED fx to swap the channels?

Hope this makes sense to someone!

Just swapping the L-R channels is quick and easy. Right-click the audio event(s) and select "Channels> Swap" in contents menu. Sound Forge Pro has a channel converter process, but I don't know if it's a plug-in and/or available through VP. Otherwise there's probably a simple/free VST plug-in available.. though you'll have to search.

Rraud thanks for the reply but right click channel swap will just swap the input channels to the fx which doesn't work with MS.

You can map your output channels to whatever channels you want. I believe the HELP menu talks about the procedure.
