just turn the snapping function on, click the end of the the last clip so that the big vertical cursor is exactly snapped to the edge, and then drag the next clip onto another track while snapping the left end of it to the blinking cursor. Simple as that.

The quick and dirty answer... you can always get clips to snap to the cursor. Click on the track you want use as the reference to line up all the other clips. Assuming you want all of them to start at the beginning of this clip, hit the left square bracket key "[" which will put the cursor at the beginning of the reference clip. (Or press the right square bracket to put the cursor at the end of the clip.) Now you can drop in the other clips and they will "snap" to the cursor.

Also, once you get the cursor to the beginning (or end) of the "reference" clip, you could drop a marker there (by pressing the "M" key) and all the clips you add will snap to the marker even if the cursor gets moved for some reason.

it isn't as expediant as the magnet function, but i'm just glad to get something that'll line up the edit points, even if it means xtra keystrokes.
