Fortunatly, for me. I took one glance at Premiere, and never touched it again. I wasn't big into vid-editing back then anyway. I tried tons of programs, MGI VideoWave was a cheap shit, and now it's even cheaper since they've been bought out by Roxio. I tried Ulead MediaStudio Pro 7, which was alright except I just didn't like the feel of it. I can say easily that Vegas is quite possibly the best video editor out there, after I got totally comfortable with using it I never once used Ulead again when I got out of my comfort zone with Vegas. It just takes some getting used to but it is by far the most powerful program out there, hands down.

yea i gotta agree with you, DVDA seems to mess up from time to time. What i really want is to go down to hollywood and steal whatever they use to master their dvds. I mean i want all kinds of crazy effects like animations between menus the whole works.

no other program out there seems to do any of the really special stuff yet... we'll see, this adobe jobbie sounds promissing

"those tools still possess high-level features such as three-way color correction that Vegas lacks"

As most of you know, this particular high-level feature shipped with Vegas 4.

SonicEPM - you should let Digit magaize know this so they can, hopefully, correct the reviewer. I am guessing you ("you" = SoFo parent HQ here in the US) never saw the entire review? Or would that only go to SoFO's distributor in the UK?

I used Premiere for 3 years, but finally decided to use Vegas 3. Having used Acid for quite a while I found a lot of things easy, but there were many things I used to do in Premiere I couldn't figure out how to do in Vegas. After visiting the forums for a while and actually looking things up in help occasionally I saw that not only could I do everything I used to do in Premiere (once I learned how), but I could do it better and quicker.

Every new program has a learning curve. I spent many many many frustrating hours with Premiere trying to get it to do certain things. When I look at the time I spent in Premiere to achieve certain effects compared to Vegas, there IS no comparison!

Like so many others, it's Vegas all the way and Premiere is fast fading into the dusty recesses of my mind.

If you're a busy professional then it's probably harder to make the transition if you're in the middle of projects, but just keep visiting the forums and keep playing and pretty soon you'll realize how much quicker you can achieve things in Vegas.

Vegas 4 gives you color-correction capabilites only found in very expensive programs and Satish's 3DLE plug-in gives you complete control over perspective. Titling is somewhat basic with Vegas, but it's priced so low, adding a good titling program still keeps everything cost-effective.
