Preprocessing Video

Ive been playing around with virtualdub for the last couple of days applying filters here and there before i bring the clips into Vegas4. I was wondering what filters others use on a regular basis before they start editing? I guess this goes for avisynth as well since both seem to serve each other quite well.

Personally i have used: SHarpen, Smooth, and a 2D cleaner with some success. Just intereseted if someone is using a filter that i am not aware of since there are so many to choose from.

Thanks for the link. It seemed to be geared more towards the actual plugin itself as opposed to the technical merits of certain filters. I was just wondering, in terms of workflow, what filters other users choose before they start the edit process.

Love love love SteadiHand - it smooths shakey footage.

With steady hand, do you know if there are some switches or custom presets where I could process 16:9 footage?

Would you please provide a link to steadihand? I did a quick search and it didn't come up.

Thanks,
Don

I woke up with a case of the "stupids" this morning. The link was right under the word "steadihand," for crying out loud!
