preserve pitch in V5

I have "preserve pitch" unchecked in prefs but my audio preserves pitch when stretching or inserting velocity envelope. I've closed and re-opened V5 but no difference. Any ideas?

Audio will always preserve pitch in these circumstances. The pref you are selecting is related to importing media with metadata embedded.
Right click the event/properties/TimeStretch-PitchShift/set to Classic, and a new dialog opens up. Set to taste, and move ahead.

EDIT: Well the stretch function works fine but as I recall when I added a velocity envelope to the video before, the audio would follow it .....or maybe I'm crazy
.If I am crazy, is there a way to get the audio to follow the video velocity envelope?

Velocity envelopes have never applied to audio.
