Preserving Velocity Envelopes when resizing event

SeaJohn wrote on 1/7/2005, 10:05 PM
I have an event with a velocity envelope with several points. The first point is at 1 second into the event. When I drag the leading edge of the event backwards (to make the event longer, starting sooner on the timeline) all of the velocity envelope's points move with it. So if I add 5 seconds at the beginning of the event, the first velocity point is still at 1 second; it should be at 6 seconds. i.e. I want the velocity points to remain at the same location on the timeline.

Is there an option setting for this somewhere?

This isn't an elegant solution, but it would do the job:

Split the event very very near the beginning, say between the 1st & 2nd frames. Now pull out the beginning of the first piece to the desired length and remove the velocity envelope from it. You'll be off by one frame, but you can adjust that too if necessary.
