Presets in ProType Titler

Hi everyone. Does anyone know if it's possible to change a preset in Protype and have the change apply to all instances in the project where that preset has already been applied?

For instance, if I've used the same preset to create 10 title slides in a project, and the first word in the preset was set to be pink, but I decide I want the first word in all of these slides to be blue instead, is there a way to go back and alter the preset so that I don't have to manually go in and change each slide after I decide to make the change?

I've been playing around trying to figure it out, but no luck yet.

Thanks,
JP

I don't see how changing a "preset" in PTT will change any other event already on the timeline. I'm fairly sure I wouldn't want that kind of feature to be automatic. I think you'll have to make those changes event by event, one at a time.

I also don't see how to change the color of a particular word except word by word.. I don't see how to "copy" new text into a preset and maintain the colors of particular words. You can maintain other attributes but not color.

if every other instance was copies/pasted by REFERENCE and not COPY, then yeah, it should work.

HappyFriar Copy by Reference is a neat trick. Didn't think of using that. Good suggestion. It would work if all the text in the titles are the same, since changing one instances changes all the others that have been COPIED BY REFERENCE.

The text is different in each title, so that won't work.

I was thinking it'd be useful to have a functionality in PTT sort of like styles in Word or CSS for web sites. That way, if you decide you want to make a global change to all of your titles -- even something as basic as changing the font -- you don't have to go in and redo the titles one-by-one.

I probably run into this problem more than most, b/c most of my projects have a lot of explanatory text in them.

Thanks for the replies.
