Presonus Faderport 8 setup with VegasPro 14, not fully working

Faderport 8 is in Mackie Control Mode,
Midi setting done in Vegas,
External control/automation setting done in Vegas.
Result:

Transport control buttons not working, but indicator lighting is correct when control direct with mouse/keyboard
Faders not working, read or write. But top display on faderport 8 show channel names.

I’m interested in hearing and understanding more. I want more audio shaping control of at least 4-Channels.

Well, I'll talk to myself then 😕 . . .

I got a Presonus FaderPort 8 "Loaner" from my Audio Supplier and have been testing the ergonomics and connectivity with VP15 . Once I got use to the Combinations of Buttons - not that difficult anyway - this is a stunning performer, even though hearing the Motorised Faders creep ghost-like across the deck! 💀

A big shout-out 🗣 thank you to John Rofrano, of this and other parishes, for his several sessions with me over SKYPE and FaceTime in getting me going.

NB1: I will be reporting a GUI issue concerning when the Options "External Control" is switched ON/OFF being reversed when Vegas is opened. And yes, I've interrogated IntPrefs and switched back and forth FALSE and TRUE to force changes, to no avail.

NB2: The real, real issues were with connectivity. I stumbled across the need to delete ALL the default choices for the External Control options that VP15 presented me with and have me manually start over - meaning it, wasn't good enough for me to go with the selected made active (NOT) selection, I had to delete them and start over. This was most certainly not the case when I tested VP12 > VP14. They worked.

But so far this is a stunning performer, both for the money - it COULD be a 100 less, but I always think this lol - and the functionality with VegasPro15.

Definitely "Grazie-Proof"!! And "Grazie-Approved"!!

It's a pity that it doesn't provide a ninth fader to act as the Master fader IMHO. :(

Thanks for this post, I'm going to get the faderport 16 which should be here by next week. I use both Studio 1 as my DAW and Vegas Pro 13 "Soon to upgrade to 15" for video. I'll let you know how it all works after I get the chance to play with it for a week.
