I haven't tried this myself but a lttle while ago someone mentioned a switch that turns on something like Show Unquantised Frames. I have to wonder why that isn't on by default.

The "Show Unquantized Frames" puts a red marker where the data doesn't end on a frame boundary; I presume this is a good thing to know and you fix it by just moving the clip end back to the previous frame.

The internal change I always tout is the "Snap Pixel Width", which reduces the magnetic stickiness of clips on the timeline. Default is 7, I much prefer 3.

Other than those two, I've left the hundreds of other settings as they are.

If you're not careful you can get cuts on fields instead of frames with QTF Off, no a pretty thing to have happen.

I have greatly reduced the duration of the splash screens in all of the Sony products, because I am impatient like that : )
