Preview image seems dim vv4

I might be missing some little adjustment, but my preview monitor (on the computer) is dramatically dim, and muddy. Both the luminance and saturation seem down.

NTSC monitor looks fine, and waveform is showing plenty of luminance.
I recorded Bars off of a video generator onto a fresh tape, and then digitized same into VV4, just to make sure. Problem as above -

Also: the whites on Bars are only showing 95 IRE.

Check at the very top of the track and see if you altered the track opacity level, a little blue line that should appear if you hover your mouse at the very top of the timeline.

Good question---My second, five year old CRT is starting to dim---I see an appreciable loss of luminance and resolution. Do you have a similar problem with other programs on your screen.

Billy - never touched any luminance or opacity fx or envelopes
Rex - Monitor is new Sony 18" LCD (one year) and Photoshop images sing.
