Preview on External Monitor Issue

Okay, if I'm the only one I'll eat it but it seems that if I have multiple instances of Vegas and/or DVDA open it does not switch to the one I'm working on, and worse ( and my current complaint ) that if one of them is rendering and Preview is toggled, your pretty much out of luck. As the project I'm rendering is 90 mins this is pretty debilitating.

Am I wrong that this didn't used to be the case ? As I'm one that often has three instances of Vegas open at any given time this kinda grovels.

Just tested for you Mutts - all at the same time.

1/- V6b OPen Proj1 - ExtMon=YES

2/- V6b OPen Proj2 - ExtMon=YES

3/- DVDA3 Open Proj3 - ExtMon=YES for editing . . . for realtime TESTING preview = NO!

Mind you, my Page File HAS jumped to 1.3gbs! - That's a lot of maths going on: 2 x instances of V6b PLUS DVDA3 with a further preview out to f/w . .. lots there. And you say you are rendering? Nice work if you can get it! I can't.

I think MM - if you have it running too - takes up a lot of BRAIN power.

Best regards,

Grazie

Hi Ray,

With multiple instances of Vegas 5 open I've had the same problem. I found that I can get monitoring to switch to the active copy by turning off the D8 camera I'm using for the monitor and turning it back on again. After about 10 seconds of disk thrashing, the picture comes up in the monitor.

I never run Vegas in the foreground and DVDA (version 2) in the background -- DVDA eats the whole machine and doesn't leave anything left for me. I CAN run Vegas in the background and DVDA in the foreground, however.
