Preview Screen Lag - SVP9

Hello,

Loving 9,
but finding some lag in the preview screen, especially when effects are used.
Problems arise when I work with muzzle flash composites , the preview screen seems to adopt a crazy jarring time.
I have a duo core quad processor, 2 gig of Ram and plenty of juice in the processor.
No such problems in 8 though.

Is my settings wrong somewhere ?

On effects V9 some time thinks and then transfers to lower preview.

"Adjust Size and Quality for Optimal Playback"

"If you want to emphasize frame rate during preview, right-click the Video Preview window and select Adjust Size and Quality for Optimal Playback. When the command is not selected, video quality is emphasized, and the frame rate will be reduced if necessary."

As I havent rendered anything yet,
hoping that it converts better than it looks as I am editing it.

A have the diplay on automatic, I ran it on Best in 8 without any lag with or without FX, this time my preview sceen is smaller and the settings are way down to almost pixelated, still with lag from about the 5 minute mark.
