Preview to ext mon much faster in V7 vs V6

I was guessing in another post that I was previewing the same Huffy AVI at a higher framerate in V7 than in V6. I realized I needed to do a quick test.

In Vegas 6d I average 16 frames per second to the monitor. In Vegas 7 I average 22 to 24 frames per second. (Edit -- this is 24p video)

Awesome improvement -- especially considering the fact that it's also previewing on my computer screen at the same time.

I have noticed that if I size the computer screen preview too large the frame rate goes down.

P.S. in 6 and 7 I set the preview mode to Preview Full so the test used equal quality modes.

Paul,
I didn’t notice any playback improvement on my PIV 3.06 HT with palDV source.
Are you running on a single or a dual core ?
Thx

I've got a Toshiba Duocore Centrino laptop. If you've got a much faster desktop then you probably wouldn't notice the difference. You'd probably get maximum framerate from v6 and v7. For me, however, with my limited hardware, it's a nice improvement.

it seems V7 have a better playback rate than V6 with multi core cpu.
My cpu is a single core, so I can't see any improvement.
