From memory (i.e. could be wrong) if you right click in the preview window you'll get some options.

I remember having this problem in the beginning too. I think I had my preview window too small. I was running my display at 800x600. When I resized the preview window bigger, it got clear but I didn’t have much room for my video tracks. I finally resolved to the fact that I needed to run my display at 1024x768 and that cleared everything up because I had enough room to have the preview window large enough not be blocky and still have enough room to see all the tracks. Hope this helps,

I am running my display at 1024x768. I have been experimenting a bit, if I just play the clip using the preview button it plays clearly but if I move the clips to the timeline and play them, then it appears blocky.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Graffo, check your project properties (File / Properties). If you have your project resolution set low, then anything on the timeline will be resized to this resolution when shown in the preview window.

Thanks for your advice. I looked up the project properties and it says PAL DV which is what I'm using. I'm capturing DV from a pal camcorder and want to display it on a PAL TV.

Any other ideas?

Thanks
