Preview window monitor

Gentlemen, I would like to use a Toshiba TV, VHS, and DVD combo for video in and out of Vegas 5. Specifically, to use the TV as a preview window instead of the little one in Vegas 5. My video card is an Asus Radeon 9800 Pro with a multi-video in and TV out adapter. I have no problem capturing video to Vegas, it recognizes the ATI Rage theater video capture, but I'll be darned if I can get it to Preview on External Monitor. In Preferences it only list, OHCI compliant IEEE 1349/DV and Video for windows standard. I have run a 1349 cable from the computer to my camera and then composite cable to the TV input. This works great, but I don't want to drag camera and cables out every time I want to use this, plus have all the clutter on my desk.
I was hoping that someone would know what to change in Vegas 5 to make this work. Thanks to all in advance.
Ron

Sorry but, other than investing in something like a Canopus ADVC 100, you have no other choice at this time.

I have the ASUS V8420 deluxe video card with both S/composite video in and out. I got video in, but I never got video out. I gave up and got an analog/digital converter and haven't had any problems since. (any big problems) You may have problems with audio/video sync when capturing long videos using the video card to capture. The A/D converter fixes all that.
