Preview Window position problem

Using 4.0 and I am having a problem with the positioning of my Video Preview window as well as when I open a Video Event FX window. The Preview window at the start of my project was permanently located on the lower right hand of my screen, spliting the screen with the transitions, media pool, media generators ect.. Now my Preview window is only located with my transitions, media pool, media generators ect.. on the lower left hand side off the screen were I have to click on its tab to bring it up. How do I get my preview windo back to the right side of the screen were it splits the screen and is permanent.
Also, when I open a Video Event FX window to edit a clip, the FX window use to come up as a seperate window were I could position it anywhere on the desktop. Now when I bring up the FX window it tacts itself to the lower right hand side of the screen and I can only make it bigger or smaller but can move its position.
I've looked high and low for how to fix these 2 problems but obviously had no success. I'm sure it's something very simply that I'm overlooking and any help would be greatly appreciated.

The window panes can "float" meaning they are dockable and undockable. One of the features of Vegas, I'm not too keen on. To the left of every window pane, the preview window, FX filters, Explorer, etc., is a very thin vertical bar. By clicking on this and holding down your left mouse button they can be "undocked" meaning dragged around on screen, even dragged to a second monitor, they can also be resized as well and be slid sideways. It is easy (why I don't like the feature) for one window pane to "hide" behind another. You for sure aren't the first to wonder where such and such went.

On a related note, is there any way to have the tracks be on the bottom and the preview window, etc., be on the top? I work on a laptop and I'm about to break my neck off looking at the bottom of the screen all the time.
Thanks!

Nope, not that I'm aware of. I think the reason is you can have unlimited tracks, so they 'need' to be at the top.
