I capture video from my HC3 with the external Vegas capture application. I am just saving SD instead of HD right now because I have a 2.6 GHZ system and editing HD at this point is a slow task.

OK, when I take the captured AVI files and put them in the trimmer and trim parts out to the project timeline, basically anything except for DRAFT HALF is slow in the preview window.

However if I take an MPG file in the trimmer and drag portions of it to the timeline, I can preview with GOOD FULL quality with zero hesitation.

What gives?
