I've read a few posts about this, but still am unable to
preview a DX effect *before* recording it. Can anyone
please explain the procedure?
Let's use this scenario:
I insert an audio track.
I am running my guitar into it, and by arming the track I
can see that the meter responds, so I know I'm getting
signal in.
I insert an assignable effect, let's say flanger. I set my
track FX1 send to 10DB. The track is routed to Bus A, the
assignable FX are set to Bus A.
And shouldn't I see meter activity in the assignable FX
bus? I've tried running the effect pre and post volume,
makes no difference.
I might add that I have absolutely no problem recording
with effects, or adding them on after the track is
recorded. Is this the only way to 'preview' them?
I'm obviously not as sharp as I tell everyone. Someone bail
me out!
