Been using a 20" monitor for my Vegas Pro 8 Pc system.
I'm wanting to jump to another size, so what do you think of a 1080p 28" LCD ?
Is this an overkill ?
I took a look @ monitors & gotta say, I'm disappointed. Why? Because even though monitor sizes get bigger, resolutions stay the same. So, for editing, I'd rather do two smaller monitors then two huge monitors where I'd see pixels. My 19" LCD is 1440x900. A monitor that's 28" should be a lot higher res then that.
For preview a 28" might be nice, but for editing it seems not like overkill but a waste of $$.
A 24" monitor gives you 1920x1200 res which is what you want for 1920x1080 preview with no scaling. No scaling could mean one less thing for Vegas to do.
Yes a 24" monitor is great even better is 2 haha but watch out and make sure you check the resolution of the new one they are now coming in 1920x1080 instead of 1920x1200 some still come with the latter but most are going to the true HD res.
I am using one 22" and one 17" LCD and a 19" crt for the preview. the 22 for timeline, trimmer and preview and the 17 for toolbars. that seems to work great. I really like that you can save the layouts cause I use all nine slots for all the different ways I do editing.
Dual 24's for me and it does the trick. Looked into getting another preview out. but don't need to right now.
one for the T/L, one for the windows, etc...., and preview window. and when I want to preview full frame, I modified the Full Screen key stroke to be a variation of the space bar ( CTRL+Shift+Space to be precise ).
