Print From Timeline Re-Pre-Rendering?

Ok, After reading all the messages about the benefits of pre-rendering for the print from timeline, I was all psyched and ready to go. Did the print from time line, reviewed the tape, made a few changes. I noticed that the "pre-rendered" indicators over the areas that I changed disappeared, which I expected. However, when I selected print from timeline, it began to pre-render the entire project again and all of the indicators disappeared. Why didn't it keep the ones it had and only render the changed sections. Did I miss something? Both times I selected the standard dv template.

The prerenders are broken up into 10 second chunks- if you change one 5 sec event, only one or two prerenders would need to be regenerated (plus the audio proxy). If you changed something like track opacity or added a project level effect, then everything would need to get rebuilt.

What changes did you make?

Well, not that you mention it. :)

I have one track at the top which has titles and such on it. Very sparse. I changed the track opacity on it. Would that have affected even the large areas where track one is actually empty?

yes

If it's practical to do so (ie, you don't have 734,219 titles in that track ...), change the opacity for each title individually instead of changing the entire track. That will save you from having to re-pre-render everything.

That's actually what I had meant to do. Don't know why I put the envelope in there. I actually wanted them all at %100, but had one that I wanted to about 20%. Just wasn't thinking with I added the envelope. Then after the first run, I noticed that from the end of the 20% to the end of the project, the envelope gradually raised back to 100%. Doh!
