Print to DV tape

Printing to DV tape thru a compliant or manual operation is only yeilding bluescreen printing every two seconds on the DV tape. No error shows via video preview via software. Playback of the DV tape displays the same as when I viewed it being printed . . . bluescreen every two seconds. I closed and dumped everything that I could before selecting this operation and even tried rendering to ONE track format .avi, mpeg1, mpeg2 etc.

Here is my system information:
Windows XP Professional
Pentium 4 - 1.8 Ghz; 320 Gig HD; 2.0 Gig Ram; Compliant 1394 Firewire
Canon XL1s
Vegas 5.0 + DVD 2.0
Serious Magic Ultra Chroma Keyer

Any immediate answers would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Do you have a Promise Raid controller in there?
VIA chipset? These are both known to have blue or grey intermittents on print to tape depending on the system config.
Have you shut down networking resources too? That may play havoc with some renders.
You SURE your 1394 card is OHCI compliant? What kind is it? This is also a symptom of non-compliant cards. Do a search here for ADS Pyro cards, you'll see where people thought they had compliant, but switching to an ADS, SIIG, Orange, or Unibrain fixed the issue.
Printing to tape has ONLY one option, NTSC or PAL DV. No other options. (excepting Widescreen DV, of course)

thank you SPOT for your reply. Yes, I do have a Promise Raid card operating the hard drive that the video file I am trying to Print to DV is on. Please advise further on how to solve this issue, thanks

I think you need to get the latest Promise drivers, and be sure your BIOS is up to date. The Promise issue is a big one for Canopus users too. Give that a shot, and hopefully that will clear your issues.
Promise just writes poor drivers, or so it seems.
