You have to set Options/Preferences/General Tab . . . scroll down to and check box to "save active prerenders on close." Default will make them go away. Grob

This is selected. Maybe it isn't rendering. But everytime I close Vegas, it makes me wait to do something when I try tp print to tape again to send the video to the 6 daisy chained vcrs. It should be instant...no? Dunno.

This is a jolly good question. Try going back to basics. Open Capture>Print To Tape>Select the known AVI file . . . and the rest you should know. I've done this and the reaction is straight away - yeah?

Grazie

The audio render for print-to-tape is not cached and needs to be re-done each time. The video uses pre-renders, which can persist across uses (the bars above the timeline).

Yes Grob . . But why? - If you ask me, seems a tad inefficient. I'll bet there will be a reason - however for the moment I can't see it. SonicDennis, would you like to explain the necessity for this, please.

Grazie

Apologies. - If you access the Capture programme - yeah? You will see the various tabs - Capture - Advanced Capture - Print To Tape [PTT]. Select the PTT tab. You will see a "pane" with the option to locate your AVI file. Locate and select it. This becomes the file to PTT. Click on it and it transfers to the PTT secion of the Window - yes? With your "device" connect you should be able to PTT immeadiately. Mkae sure you have your Preferences set up with DV Device Controls ENabled. You can make use of the controls to send your AVI file to the dv device. - Sorry I didn't spell it out - having come up through the ranks from VF, where I was always able to "Select" a file to PTT, I forgot that others have come straight to V4.

Hope this has helped,

Grazie
