Print to Tape comes out SLOW

When I print to tape from the Capture program it works, but from the Tools menu the video comes out slow, i.e. 2 min video stretched to 2.5 min.
How to fix this?

(Vegas 6.0d, only one rendered item in the time line. Playback speed =1, no effects, no velocity -- just a rendered file.

Yes it is TRUE. Capture's PRINT-to-TAPE works but the Tools version does not. Anyone know why?

Running out of cpu bandwidth? Hard to believe... 3ghz pentium 4, 2 gig ram.

You mean the video is actually time stretched / slomoed on the tape?

Not true slomo, just slow. The tape has visual blips, perhaps jumps or skips. The audio is flanged due to slowing. When I capture the tape back and compare with the orig on the timeline, the tape version is maybe 40% longer.

What could cause this? It is as if it runs out of time and cant send to the tape fast enough -- but the timeline is rendered. No work to be done...
