Print To Tape Error???

I live in Canada, I want to send a video to Greece. I am trying to convert a video to
PAL. I try to print to dv tape using the PAL option. It renders then I gat the following
message:"An error occured while creating the nedia file. No compatable video codec was found. What went wrong?

ALSO, am I going about this right? I will edit my video in Vegas, print to dv tape with
PAL settings, hook-up my camcorder to my VHS player/recorder and copy to vhs tape
and send to Greece?

Thanks,

Alex

Sounds to me that there is an issue with the codec trying to render the file to avi specs for PAL. (Why are you trying to render to PAL?)

But yes...after you do get the file back off to tape you can hook your camcorder to your VHS and copy it to VHS and send it to Greece.

That being said...why PAL?

kameron: PAL is the standard in much of the rest of the world.

beatnik, Once the PAL codec problem is solved (sorry, I can't help with this other than to say it works fine for me here in Australia) I believe you'll need to check that your camcorder and VHS player/recorder support PAL. I believe many (most?) in North Amercia do not.

I've got the reverse problem here (PAL to NTSC for people in North America) and I ended up going to a production house who converted a PAL DV tape to NTSC VHS for me.

Good luck!
