Print-to-tape: Fatal Exception

I keep getting a blue screen crash when I print to tape. The error message is:
Fatal exception 06 at 0000:00000063

The weird thing is that each time I try to print to tape, it gets a little further along before crashing. For example, the first pass might record 1 minute, then crash. The next attempt may get 2.5 minutes, then crash. Next attempt could go 3-4 minutes, then crash. Eventually, it will (sometimes) print the entire project.

All background functions are shut down using EndItAll.

.avi files are less than 2gb in size.
External firewire drive, 120GB, 7200 rpm.
Canon DV camcorder.
Windows 98se
356 RAM

Are you printing from Vegas or Video Capture?

Which firewire hd?

What OHCI card?

What Canon DV camcorder?

Thanks!

It sounds like your printing to tape via the VidCap program because you said the files are less than 2gb. If so you might try playing with the settings in the prefs/print to tape area. Might help. If your trying to print from timeline (SF calls it "print to DV tape"-------- SF guys, you might want to come up with some names for each that have a bigger difference between them. For times like these 8- )
Things that can help with DV playback with either print option are:
You should have your Windows Virt. Memory set to a fixed amount, I run 1gig. Another thing that can help is setting your HDs to "network" useage.
Your FW/1394 card could have an IRQ conflict with another PCI card. Check via Programs/Accesories/System........
Copy a few files to your internal drive and see if it plays. If it does then - FW cable could be bad, HD might be underpowered in FW case, FW card doesn't like two devices ???
