i can capture with my pyro card just fine but when i try to
print back to tape i get an error saying com device
failed - it seems i have fiddled with every possible
parameter - any ideas?
We test with this exact setup all the time internally.
2 things to check:
1)Have you rendered your files using the "NTSC DV" template?
2) Are you using the "Microsoft Camera and VCR" (msdv.sys)driver? The
video capture tool will tell you that if the camera is connected. If
you are not using this driver, check out the DV driver support page:

A re-install of Sonic Foundry Video Capture fixed this problem.
(Error message: "Com failure" )
