You have to print to tape via firewire 1394 card.

shoot...I did not know that. Do they make adapters for firewire out to composite or S-video? Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Firewire for 'print to tape' is the superior method. If you don't have a firewire computer/camera you can output to VHS recorder, via composite or S-video but not always that easily or with that great a quality. For example the newer Matrox dual headed video card comes with a special cable that has a standard video connector on one end and a standard RCA video (yellow) plug plus a "S" connector as well on the other end. Not using that method but using a older ATI card with video/audio in/out I just ran the same cable setup. What you may need to do it set a switch to feed the output through the cable in addition to your monitor. As a first step render the file with a suitable template. Then fire up Media Player or some other player, first being sure the the connection is right by hooking up a TV to the VCR, then start media player and select record on your VCR and you should get a decent copy. You can not record from the timeline or use the capature/print to tape methods with an analog setup like this. If you have a older camera and it has both a "S" or RCA type input/output you should be able to record to a VHS tape the same way. You also may need to run a seperate cable from your audio output on your PC to the input of your VCR if the gain is low or noisy. :-)

Actually, this isn't true for Video Capture, as it supports full screen file playback for most displays. See the Preview Preferences tab for enabling full screen mode support. Note, tho' that you either get full screen file playback or output to a DV device (not both), when this feature is enabled and you use the Preview on Device or Record to Device buttons.
