Print to tape problem

Suddenly I'm having print to tape problems. I'm using a laptop with xp home sp2. I have a project of 1hr 50min to ptt. Vegas renders whatever it needs, then renders the w64 audio file, then starts printing to tape. After 15 min. it seems to me that the 1394 connection gets interrupted, the recording device, a camera in this case, stops recording, but vegas goes on ptt. I've completed about a dozen weddings with this setup and have not had any problems. I set the display to stay on, but other than that, I'm not sure where to look.

One common thing that you could be getting caught with is (belive it or not) COPY PROTECTION. I have had this happen to me (and my footage is not copy protected - it was shot by my own hands).

What happens is the camera can mistake some frames as containing copy-protection codes... in which case the camera just drops into copy protect status and stops recording to tape. In my case it took me a while before I figured out what was going on. After a few minutes of the PTT a quick "copy protect" warning came up on the cameras LCD in red and then after a few seconds it disappeared. Vegas still kept on acting as if it were doing the PTT - but nothing more was being recorded.

I found what I had to do was to add a slight blur (.001) to the few frames where the camera thought it had detected copy protected video - and then it worked OK.

well i'm not sure what the problem was, but i got around it by rendering the video into a new clip. once i started a new project with the newly rendered clip, all was well.
thanks for your response
