When I print to tape, lately it will start, and then it says over 80% needs be be rendered. It already is an avi rendered file. Why is it doing this. Thanks:)
the avi is a rendered file. I never had this problem before until a few days ago. Both in Vegas 6 and 7, it is now doing it. Even when I render the original file to make it an avi, it seems to take a lot longer to render.

It sounds like you are not rendering to the correct AVI type. Are you rendering to a DV AVI?
have you tried ptt direct from file as i suggested?

Okay, then time to start looking for the less obvious stuff.
What effects have you applied? What framerate and resolution is the original file? Have you used BROADCAST safe or any filter like that? Are you using the correct aspect (not rendering to anamorphic or vice versa).
I found that the problems was caused by my audio settings. Somehow, I must have changed them. I went back to my settings I normally used and everything is fine now.
