Print to tape Problems resolved

About a month ago I started posting problems with Printing to tape with my AMD Athlon 1600 running Windows XP. I tried everything that was so kindly suggested to no avail. I was considering changing the motherboard but after getting in touch with the suppliers we decided to change the firewire card and hey presto my problems vanished completely.

So if any others are having similar problems this may be a solution. I had this kind of firewire card:
D-LINK FIREWIRE ADAPTER CARD – DFW 500 (IEEE 1394 COMPLIANT)
(Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller)

and changed it to another called a Belkin IEEE 1394 ... thanks to all those who offered help. Can't wait to get going with Vegas now.

As I am right now assembling my shopping list to enable video here on the old home range, I sure appreciate your tip in the D-Link- I could have easily wound up with one and wondered what the???

That's great Doc - hmmm I'm sure that D Link would be concerned - we're simply returning it as faulty and await their assessment - it may well have been a one off problem but it had me running around for weeks! All the best - it's fantastic when it works.
