print to tape - use vegas or capture?

it appears you can do a print to tape from both vegas and the video capture application. capture appears to only accept .avi files. from the manual, i get the impression that vegas will render before printing to tape. so what is the preferred way to print to tape?

IF you're just printing 1 avi file to tape then you can do it through the capture utility, but if you are printing an edited program to tape then you will have to do it through the diting program so Vegas can render what it needs to so you get clean transitions, titles etc...

Or, you could use Vegas to render to AVI and then use Capture to print the edited project (either way, it has to render)

Personally, I always to Vegas to PTT.
