Print to tape without having to prerender

Hi,

I constantly need to send miniDV's to people with different films in different order.

It would be handy if I could make avi files that would not require prerendering when printing to tape. I could put them on the timeline in the order I wanted and record a miniDV and send it off. It would be like dubbing a miniDV but I could change the order of the films.

So far I've tried this

Save as type: Video For windows (.avi)
Template: Pal DV (Im from Europe so I use Pal)

Im quite certain that this is what the files should be. But when I put this newly rendered file in to a new empty project it has to prerender the project before printing to tape and that takes a long time.

But when I have material captured straight from the miniDV and I print that back to tape (with no effect or changes) it does not have to prerender but just starts doing it instantly.

Any advice on this? What format I should render to avoid again having to prerender before printing to tape?

Thanks

Sami

Have you the correct settings on your software, eg are you recoding in PAL and trying to print in NTSC ?

Hi

Im capturing Pal, project is Pal and Im printing to Pal miniDV camera.

this is the file captured from the tape:
Video: 00:02:00,440, 25.000 fps interlaced, 720x576x24, DV
Audio: 00:02:00,440, 48 000 Hz; 16 Bit; Stereo, Uncompressed

This is the file Ive rendered from the above and Im trying to print to tape
Video: 00:00:00,280, 25.000 fps interlaced, 720x576x24, DV
Audio: 00:00:00,280, 48 000 Hz; 16 Bit; Stereo, Uncompressed

The first one prints to tape without prerendering but the second doesnt... Are there other settings I should look at in the properties window?
