Printing 24p Project to Tape

I'm only familiar with burning 24p projects to DVD but need to print one to tape right now. I have rendered the project as both mpg (MPEFG2) and wav files since I have burned to DVD already.

When I go to the print to tape menu, it looks like this automatically brings in the audio for a 24 p project. Is this the correct interpretation? Also, how do I know whether to pick 2-3 or 2-3-3-2 pulldown choice? Thanks very much.

2-3 is generally for tape, and 2-3-3-2 is generally for re-importing.

Thanks, PH125. Do you know where/how the audio gets pulled in? Does Vegas automatically search for the matching wav file?

Anyone else with 24p print to tape experience? Thanks very much.

Sorry, I'm a little confused about the wav thing. To print to tape, you also need to convert the project to an AVI, because that's all you can print to tape. Avi however also offers pulldown for 24p.

Here’s what I did that worked, in case it helps anyone else. My other attempts had resulted in printing with audio, but the image was jumping all over the place.

I clicked the “Custom” tab in the Print to Tape window. Then I clicked on the “Video” tab at the bottom of that window. I set “Frame rate” to 23.976 (2-3 pulldown). I set “Video format” to NTSC DV. I checked the “Interleave every frame” box. Then I clicked back onto the “Project” tab. I set “Video rendering quality” to best. Then I hit OK.

Got a beautiful print to tape. Hey, PH125 - just saw your other response. Thanks. Got it all to work now!
