Printing DVDs BEFORE burning?

I just got an Epson R200 photo printer with DVD printing abilities.

The manual says to burn the DVD *before* printing or it may cause burn errors.

I would really, really like to print the DVDs first so as to keep track of what is what.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Have folks been able to consistently print the DVD *before* burning without any burn errors?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Sure, you can print them before. I've never used this particular hardware, but our DVDs are printed before we record. We usually print 25 or so blanks so they're just done and ready.

Same here. Print them first. Chances of a messed up print are better than a messed up burn.

Just be careful not to get ink past the edge of the printable surface. There it can take forever to dry and I have had it spin off onto the disk holder. Doesn't seem to do any harm but messy.
Also if you're lucky enough to get the DVDs that you can print right to the hole be careful, they don't have a stacking hub (its a small annular bump) to keep them apart when they're stacked so make certain the ink is dry if you stack them back onto a spindle.
