Printing Frames

I have captured a few stills from a movie that i want to print out on a color printer. I imported these scenes into Paint Shop Pro 7. My problem is that i want an all red background 8.5x 11 inches (completly fills paper) then resize 4 images into quadrants. Everytime i start a new project i select 8.5x 11inch image size. Then i use PSP fill bucket and apply red. When i go to the "Print Preview" Option it shows the red background except is has cropped an UNEVEN white border. I thought it might be a border, margin, or cropping issue. Everything i try still has either a larger or smaller UNEVEN border. ANy Paint SHop users out there that can help me?

Hi Star,

I don't use PsP, but I can say with some certainty that a consumer printer will not print to the edge, and you will always get a white margin.

I believe the printer's term is a "Bleed-off" and the way it is done is to cut-down the paper so no edge shows.

You might consider cutting down to 8x10 or mounting prints onto red paper.

MPH,

"...but I can say with some certainty that a consumer printer will not print to the edge..."

Several consumer printers will print to the edge. For several examples, Epson Stylus Photo printer models 820, 825, 890, 925, and 1280.

However, many consumer printers will not print to the edge, and your comment may very well be valid in this case. At this point, we don't know the model or make of printer that is involved here.

I stand corrected, thanx.

Nevertheless, the suggestions offered may still apply.

Its funny, but i planned on getting them professionally printed out at a copy center. I just wanted to have the format already created. As far as printing on red paper, i thought the same too but thought that i might be limited to the color paper that the place might carry. SOmetimes it is a really bright red. I will probably create two formats.

However, my problem still is how do i actually do this? Is there a better program out there that can create photo montages? Better doesnt have mean more features. For example I dont like using Photoshop at all even though it is a very capable program. Anything from the Corel line that might be of interest?
